These videos were made by SADD Club students for the Town Hall meeting that was held in March 2011. The 1st Place winning video was made by Home School SADD Club; 2nd Place – Lecanto Middle School HI Five Club; 3rd Place – Crystal River High School SADD Club.

SADD

(Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a member/student-run organization. SADD Clubs are active in middle schools, high schools, and Home School in Citrus County. Some of the activities of the clubs are:

Christmas Parades - Crystal River (December 3) and Inverness (December 10) – Maleah Williamson, our new Tommy Tucker - Superhero, will be riding her horse; SADD Club youth will march carrying a banner for Partners for a Substance-Free Citrus.
"Parents Who Host Lose the Most" Campaign - Educating parents about the health and safety risks of serving alcohol at teen parties and to increase awareness of and compliance with the Underage Drinking Laws
"Be the Wall" Campaign - talks to parents as parents - reminding parents that teens are wired to take risks; it also has legs to encourage "due diligence" on many levels/topics
Town Hall - Town Hall will be April 19, 2012.
Sticker Shock Contest - Through the SADD Clubs, the opportunity to design a winning poster is open to all high school students. The 2011 winning poster was created by Anastasia O’Grady, a Home-schooled student in Citrus County. The poster sends this message: IT IS ILLEGAL TO BUY OR PROVIDE ALCOHOL FOR ANYONE UNDER 21; Posters and bumper stickers can be seen in many locations around Citrus County.
